2007 Financial Education in Oklahoma: From Policy to Action
October 24, 2007

The Oklahoma City Community Affairs Office hosted the 4th annual Financial Education in Oklahoma Conference: From Policy to Action in partnership with the Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition. The conference brought together financial education service providers and stakeholders to learn about programs offered in the state, share experiences, and identify new strategies and resources to support financial education efforts across the state. Oklahoma's Passport to Financial Literacy Act (HB1476), requiring financial education in public schools, was highlighted during the conference as it provides a foundation for expanding financial education to youth and their families throughout the state. This and other state and federal policy initiatives, financial education programs, and their opportunities for the financial education field were explored throughout the conference.

The conference was held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at the Moore Norman Technology Center's South Campus in Oklahoma City.
