Gordon H. Sellon, Jr., Senior Vice President


Gordon H. Sellon, Jr. is currently a senior vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. His research has focused on various topics relating to monetary policy, financial markets and institutions, and payments systems, and he has written articles both for economics journals and for the Bank's Economic Review.

Mr. Sellon joined the Bank in 1979 as a financial economist in the Economic Research Department and was promoted to research officer and economist in 1984. In 1986, he was appointed assistant vice president and economist and in 1998 was named vice president and economist. He assumed his current position in 2006.

Before joining the Bank, Mr. Sellon taught economics at the University of Kansas. He also served as a visiting faculty member at the University of Michigan and at Grinnell College. A native of Massachusetts, Mr. Sellon received his bachelor's degree from Harvard College, and master's and doctorate in economics from the University of Michigan.
