College Recruiting Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply?

To apply, submit a resume through your campus career services center to be prescreened for an interview with a Federal Reserve Bank representative.

What are the steps in the college recruiting process?

The Federal Reserve Bank posts full-time and internship opportunities through career services on many college campuses. Students can apply through career services for an on-campus interview. After an on-campus interview, candidates will be notified if they are selected for an in-house interview. For in-house interviews, candidates are invited to visit the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where they have at least one additional interview.  Candidates will then be notified if they were selected and an offer will be extended.

How long does the college recruiting process take?

The process takes no more than three months, but typically takes eight to 10 weeks.

The Bank does not visit my college, how can I apply?

You may apply online throughout the year at www.KansasCityFed.org. Use the job search tool to search for the position you are interested in. If the position is currently posted, you may apply by clicking "Apply for this Job" in the upper right-hand corner and following the directions.

How many recent college graduates do you hire per year? How many interns?

There is no set number of graduates or interns hired each year. It varies depending on need.

How do I get involved with INROADS?

Although INROADS interns are part of the Federal Reserve Bank’s internship program, candidates are referred to the Bank through INROADS affiliates. To become a part of the INROADS program, contact your local affiliate.
